Google Drive allows for synchronous collaboration between students and teachers on both documents and spreadsheets. What is exceptional about this iPad app is that all of the sharing can be manipulated, adjusted and enacted in real time on an iPad. Students can create and share folders with their teacher, provide editing access and turn all of their writing in through that folder. Teachers can instantly see the document, access and edit the writing in real time with the student.

Group Board - A free collaborative white board app that allows up to 5 collaborators at a time. Images can be imported from the iPad camera roll and can then be annotated collaboratively by the group.

Formerly Wallwisher, Padlet is a web based collaborative tool that integrates well on an iPad. Padlets can be created by a teacher or student, customized with a specific URL and privacy and editing settings can be adjust. Once created, the URL can be distributed to students or group members who can then access the Padlet wall through the Safari browser on their iPad. By double tapping on the wall, sticky notes with either text or images pulled from the camera roll can be added to the wall. Padlet walls are stored in a users account permanently until deleted.
